Candy, Connection and Community

Horse Creek Heritage Candy & Gifts

Who would think a candy store can connect generations and support communities, but this is exactly what the Horse Creek Heritage Candy & Gifts shop does. A nostalgic and flashy wave of jaw breakers, saltwater taffy, bubble gums, and so much more greeted me as I stepped into the shop. Reminders of my godfather spoiling me with boxes of goodies were everywhere. While I stood amazed at the merchandises, I overheard a dad whispering to his son, “You can only have one” as his little boy gripped onto several car candies. Just down the aisle from them, a gentleman chuckled as he watched his grandchildren contemplate in full concentration the best flavour of the “SWIING” candies. It seemed only yesterday that I was doing the contemplating myself.

Locally made products

The candy shop does more that sell candy, it supports local farmers, confectioners, and artisans such that every product is either made locally or brought in by a Canadian distributor.   One can easily appreciate the shop’s quality and variety of products and the tribute to Alberta’s ranching heritage taking you back in time when you cross the threshold at the shop.

Unique Gifts

Whether you need warmer clothing for the winter, a little charm as a gift, or simply crave to devour something sweet, come to the Horse Creek Heritage Candy & Gift shop to fill your heart’s desire. Unbeknownst to yourself, your purchase will support a local entrepreneur. Now how’s that for great reasons to visit this amazing little shop!
