Cochrane businesses give back to local charities

In Cochrane we’re passionate about giving back to our community, bringing people together, and supporting causes that are near and dear to our hearts. The holidays are an important time for everyone including local businesses, which is why we support charitable organizations in making December the most wonderful time of the year. Here are three ways you can support local non-profits and make a positive impact with Cochrane businesses that care.

Three ways you can give back to local charities this holiday season

1. Donate to a Cochrane Food Bank drive

Food drives are an important part of community support for those who may need these services. Through a partnership with the Cochrane Food Bank, local businesses aim to raise awareness of the critical issue of hunger within our community and come together to provide the basic necessities for individuals and families in need. Several businesses hosting Cochrane Food Bank drives this year, where you can donate non-perishables to the cause.
Bring your donations to The Boot Authentic Italian, Fence & Post, and The Beer Den. Don’t forget to host your holiday party at one of these restaurants. Together with First Choice Cellars, these local businesses are donating a portion of select wine, beer, and spirit sales to the food bank.
Have a cup of cheer with a visit to Cabeza Grande. The Mexican restaurant will donate $5 from every Don Mateo flight and $1 from every shot to the Cochrane Community Food Bank. Support charitable organizations and fiesta till you siesta.

2. Fulfill a wish from the Giving Tree

For the second consecutive year, MR MIKES SteakhouseCasual is making spirits bright with the Giving Tree. Decorated with Christmas wishes from Big Hill Haven, who provide support for families experiencing domestic abuse, and BGC Cochrane and Area, who offer youth programs, tags on the tree contain requests for Christmas gifts and gift cards. Simply pick a card off the tree and fulfill a Christmas wish for youth and survivors of domestic violence.

It’s not too late to get involved! Gifts will be collected on December 21 to pass on to the women, teens, and children that these charities support in time for Christmas.

All Giving Tree donations will be accepted until December 31.
