Wild Rides at the Fair

Cochrane Fair

The Cochrane Fair takes you on a journey back to the past offering an event from the good old days. The Cochrane & District Agricultural Society held the first fair in 1910. Many of their events were agriculture based, and the present-day exhibition adopts that same philosophy from their past.  The fair features wild rides throughout the three day event.

Cochrane Classic Bull Riding

The second night of the fair features the Cochrane Classic Bull Riding where the rides are even more wilder, and even more crazier than the previous night at the Futurity.

Mini Chuckwagons

During the three days extravaganza a popular event is the mini chuckwagons. They are like the real chuck-wagons but much smaller in size as they use four mini horses to pull their much smaller chuckwagons.

Extreme Cowboy

Another popular event during the three days is the Extreme Cowboy where horses and riders are challenged as they race the clock while completing several tasks on an obstacle course. It is the ultimate mastery of horse and rider.

Mutton Busting

On each Saturday and Sunday during the fair the kids take to the arena and try their luck at mutton busting. The sheep riders are seven years old and younger and there is always a long line-up for children who wish to ride these little balls of wool.

If people don’t like watching or riding animals then they can try their hand at the mechanical bull or the modern midway rides. There is lots of action for families to see and do, and the only advice that can be offered to the competitors and the spectators, is hang on, the Cochrane Fair can be one wild ride!
