Help Visitors Make the Most of Their Time in Cochrane

Get Explore Cochrane Certified

The Explore Cochrane Certified program is designed to help front-line staff feel confident sharing what makes Cochrane special. Whether you greet guests at a hotel, chat with customers in a shop, or serve coffee to someone new in town, a little local knowledge goes a long way.

What You’ll Learn

  • The experiences and activities that make Cochrane unique
  • How to recommend current events and things happening around town
  • Local dining gems and popular spots visitors shouldn’t miss
  • Sample itinerary ideas for different lengths of stay
  • Tips confidently answer visitor questions and spark great conversations

It’s a simple way to build confidence, support local businesses, and help visitors feel welcome – one conversation at a time.

  • Friday, May 22nd — 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
  • Thursday, June 4th — 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Become an Explore Cochrane Ambassador

The Explore Cochrane Ambassador Program brings together locals who enjoy welcoming visitors and sharing their favourite local spots. It’s a friendly volunteer team you’ll spot at markets, festivals, and community events throughout the year.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Welcome visitors at markets, festivals, and community events
  • Share favourite local spots and experiences
  • Help guests find their way around town
  • Suggest activities, dining, and things to see based on interests
  • Be a friendly, approachable face for Cochrane

HOW IT WORKS:

  • Receive Explore Cochrane Certified training
  • Sign up for volunteer shifts that fit your schedule
  • Use provided maps, talking points, and helpful materials
  • Wear an Ambassador vest and name tag at events
