Description

Slow things down and try something different with a hands-on soapstone carving experience. Guided by local artist Michael, these small-group sessions invite you to step out of the usual sightseeing rhythm and into a creative process that’s both grounding and memorable.

You don’t need to be artistic to take part—just a willingness to try. Using simple tools, you’ll shape a piece of natural soapstone into your own finished creation, learning as you go and connecting with the material in a tactile, engaging way. It’s an experience that invites curiosity, conversation, and a sense of accomplishment.

Ideal as a mid-day activity or a relaxed afternoon break, this experience fits easily between exploring downtown, enjoying a meal, or winding down after a day outdoors. It works equally well for couples, families with older children, or small groups travelling together.

Classes are available for family and friend groups, as well as corporate and tour groups, making it a flexible option for shared experiences.

You’ll leave with more than a souvenir—you’ll leave with something you made, and a moment that stays with you.
