Located just outside Cochrane, Alberta, this one-of-a-kind rescue is nestled in a serene aspen forest in the foothills of the Rockies. Visitors are invited to see wolfdogs up close, discover their unique characteristics, learn about the challenges they face, and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of wolf conservation. It’s a must-stop on the drive between Calgary and Banff!

Why Your Visit Matters:

The Sanctuary is home to over 60 rescued wolfdogs that have been neglected, abandoned or otherwise displaced. All proceeds from tours and gift shop purchases go back to supporting these animals. Your visit helps fund their food, enrichment, veterinary care, and the sanctuary’s ongoing public education and conservation efforts.

Choose Your Experience:

Sanctuary Walk – Wander at your own pace along a scenic path through the forest, with views of the habitats and informative displays along the way.

Intro Tour – This tour takes you inside a wolfdog enclosure on a large viewing platform with a guide. Enjoy the opportunity to get a “front row” viewing experience while learning all about the Sanctuary and getting an introduction to what wolfdogs are all about in this 30-minute presentation. No reservation required.

Interactive Tour (reservation required) – During this immersive experience, you’ll meet two wolfdog packs up close as you enter their enclosures and take a seat for this up-close encounter.

Know before you go:

  • Due to the sensitive nature of wolfdogs, the minimum age to visit is 6 years old, 10 years and older for the Intro Tour, and 15 years or older for the Interactive Tour.
