In 2001, a group of dedicated community volunteers, in partnership with the Town of Cochrane and Rocky View County and hundreds of generous donors, achieved the dream of building a new hockey arena and indoor turf in Cochrane. The commitment and contributions of those supporters resulted in SLS Centre, a facility that is enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people each year.
In 2009, SLS Centre added two more hockey arenas; in 2017, curling and aquatic centres were added to make SLS Centre a full-service health and wellness facility on the banks of the Bow River.
Their mission is to deliver a self-sustaining environment which champions the physical and social well-being of the community.
